At the start of Matthew Chapman’s The Ledge , Charlie Hunnam (“Sons of Anarchy”) is seen standing on a ledge ready to take a leap. He’s Gavin, a hotel manager whose neighbor and co-worker Shana, played by Liv Tyler, is married to the ultra-religious Joe (Patrick Wilson). Gavin and Joe immediately butt heads based on their beliefs, and that, compounded with Gavin’s immediate attraction to Shana, leads to the latter two having an affair. When Joe finds out, we learn what even someone who believes in “turning the other cheek” might do in the name of love.

While The Ledge is being marketed as a psychological thriller, it’s really more of a complex drama, and playing Shana is another interesting choice for Tyler, who was recently seen in a similarly damaged role…

That’s right! The kind folks over at Anchor Bay have given us an exclusive poster premiere for 5 Days of War. The film is an action-packed international thriller from acclaimed director, Renny Harlin. Based on true events, this intense film is a vivid account of a renegade American journalist, his cameraman and a local woman caught behind enemy lines, and determined to not only survive, but tell the world what was happening, during the swift but devastating 5-day war between Russian and the Georgian Republic in 2008.
The film stars Rupert Friend, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Richard Coyle with Andy Garcia and Val Kilmer. It opens on 8/19.

Long in development, 20th Century Fox’s Neighborhood Watch is finally moving forward with Vince Vaughn now likely to join Ben Stiller. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, saying that the pair will headline the sci-fi comedy.

Now set to be directed by Akiva Schaffer ( Hot Rod ), the film tells of a neighborhood watch crew that is secretly an excuse for local men to hang out together. Things take a turn for the serious, though, when the team accidentally uncovers a plot to destroy the world.

Originally set for Will Ferrell to star, David Dobkin, Shawn Levy and Peter Segal were all named to helm the project since it was first rumored in 2008. Most recently, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were brought aboard to rewrite the script.
